Just for context: I think the widespread deployment of this technology is deeply problematic and irresponsible. I think further investment in it at its current scale is an almost criminal level of fiduciary negligence and will cause economic harm. Then they peg their traction hopes on hitting those deadlines, turning each one into an existential event. The deadlines create death marches. The traction hopes compensate for the pain. Both reinforce the cycle.
