It’s worth pointing out that this eact same thing can happen with non-anonymous credentials (like usernames/passwords or session cookies) as well. However, there’s a difference. In the non-anonymous setting, credential cloning and other similar abuse can be detected, at least in principle. Websites routinely monitor for patterns that indicate the use of stolen credentials: for example, many will flag when they see a single “user” showing up too frequently, or from different and unlikely parts of the world, a procedure that’s sometimes called continuous authentication.
